A simple method for improving the reproductibility of the R-banding technique

Summary

Pretreatment of chromosomal preparations improves the reproducibility of R-banding. The pretreatment consists of covering slides with protein film made by a mixing of foetal calf serum and methanol acetic acid fixative. This procedure allows other banding techniques (GTG, Ag NOR).
