Summary
a-albumin, a specific brain protein observed after agar gel electrophoresis and shown to be identical to the later described GFA, has been determined in normal and pathological human central nervous system and cerebrospinal fluid.
The outcome of this study underlines the value of the detection of specific proteins of the brain in biological fluids.
