Summary
The dependence of stationary phase bleeding on the carrier gas flow rate and column temperature is investigated. When the carrier gas flow rate is programmed the requirements on the thermostability of the stationary phase are less stringent than in case of temperature programming. Equations for the calculation of the main parameters for a linear program are derived. An exemple for flow programming is given, utilizing steam as the carrier gas.
