Summary

A fast and easy, iscratic high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the simultaneous determination of primidone, phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine and thiobutabarbital from serum samples has been developed. The optimal eluent composition is 36% acetonitrile, 24% methanol and 40% phosphate buffer. Using a programmable wavelength detector very low (sub-therapeutic) levels of the drugs can be measured.
