Pentobarbital: Presynaptic effect in the squid giant synapse

Summary

In concentrations that produced synaptic blockade in the squid giant synapse, sodium pentobarbital produced a dose-related, reversible decrease of the ‘calcium spike’ of the presynaptic terminal.
