Abstract
TheK β X-ray spectra of42Mo,46Pd and57La bombarded with4He ions at energy 6.7 MeV/amu (i.e. at velocity closely matching those of the targetL-shell electrons) have been measured with a transmission curved crystal spectrometer.L-shell ionization probabilities in near central collisions (i.e. in those leading to the removal of aK-shell electron) were deduced from the yields ofL-satellite lines ofK β1,3 transitions. The values obtained are compared with theoretical (RSCA) predictions and found to deviate increasingly with the reduced velocity of the projectile.
