Catalytic hydrogenation of quinones in the presence of Pt, Pd, and Rh catalysts

Summary

The hydrogenation rate of quinones in the presence of platinum, palladium or rhodium catalysts is linearly dependent on the oxidation-reduction potential of the quinones, and is a particular case of the dependence of the hydrogenation rate of organic compounds on their conjugation energy.
