In the reaction with hydrochloric, hydroiodic, and hydrocyanic acids [(tricarbonylmanganese)cyclopentadienyl] (triphenylphosphine)gold forms tricarbonylcyclopentadienylmanganese and complexes of univalent gold salts with triphenylphosphine.

In the reaction of chlorine and bromine with [(triearbonylmanganese)cyclopentadienyl] (triphenylphosphine) gold the corresponding halogen derivatives of tricarbonylcyclopentadienylmanganese are formed, and ([bicyclopentadienyl]diyl]bis[tricarbonylmanganese], and complexes of univalent gold halides with triphenylphosphine.
