Conclusion
The diene condensation of 16-dehydropregnenolone acetate with 2-trimethylsilyloxy-1,3-butadiene proceeds stereospecifically at high pressure with high regioselectivity, and in the presence of Lewis acids, stereo- and regiospecifically, leading to 16α,17α-cyclohexanonopregnanes.
