Abstract

A correlation between the largest component of the electric field gradient (EFG) tensor, Vzz, and its asymmetry parameter η is discovered in a series of compounds which exhibt phase transitions. It is shown that all the EFG tensor components depend linearly on a single control parameter. A convenient way to unravel this correlation from Vzz, η-data is presented.
