Abstract
Kinetics of the aging of high nitrogen Fe−N martensites displays two steps as determined from Mössbauer analysis made from 1, 10 and 100 hour isochronal holdings each 10 K intervals. Activation energies of 95 and 126 kJ/mol are consistent with the ordering of nitrogen toward coherent and semi-coherent Fe16N2 precipitates respectively.
