Abstract

A modified regression analysis (rotation iteration technique) has been applied to establish the ultrasonic velocity-pore volume fraction relationship in some important polycrystalline materials (uranium dioxide, alumina and α-silicon carbide). The new values obtained are compared with the values reported for a single crystal and the results are discussed.
