Human plasma-derived media supplement supports antibody production by hybridoma cells

  • Published:
Journal of tissue culture methods

Summary

A new, virus-inactivated, media supplement from human plasma (GEMS) has been developed which maintains hybridoma cells at a low growth rate. The rate of antibody production per cell by hybridoma cells growing in the presence of GEMS is at least equivalent to the rate of antibody production by the same cell lines growing in fetal bovine serum.
