Vanishing of the fusion-like process in heavy-ion collisions

Abstract

The vanishing of the fusion-like process is inferred from the comparison of central collision products from different systems between 20 and 84 MeV/u. It is discussed in terms of critical energy deposit and maximum excitation energy per nucleon that nuclei can carry.
