Contribution of two-step mechanism to the isospin-forbidden16O(d, α)14N*(0+,T=1) reaction

Abstract

Measurements of the isospin-forbidden16O(d, α)14N*(0+,T=1) reaction have been extended to 50 MeV deuteron bombarding energy. A coupled-reaction-channels analysis of the reaction involving intermediate states in15O and15N underestimates the resonance-free region of the cross section by as much as an order of magnitude.
