Abstract

K-shell X-ray production cross sections of Si, Ti, Cu and Ag were measured for incident protons,4He and14N ions in the energy range of 0.17≦E 1/A 1≦2 MeV/amu. The experimental ionization cross sections are compared with calculations according to the simple Plane Wave Born Approximation (PWBA) theory as well as the corrected PWBA model (PWBABC). Strong deviations of the experimental cross sections from theZ 12 scaling are observed and discussed quantitatively.
