Search for spontaneous pion emission from252Cf source

Abstract

An experiment was carried out at Saclay, in order to determine the ratio ΓπSF with a252Cf source. An upper limit to this ratio is obtained, but the existence of spontaneous pion emission phenomenon is still an open question.
