Summary

A method for horizontal paper chromatographic separation and quantitative estimation of reduced glutathione (GSH) in blood and tissues is described. GSH is primarily stabilized by N-ethylmaleimide in the haemolysate or tissue homogenate to prevent oxidation during all further procedures. By the ninhydrin-cadmium dip-reagent GSH-concentrations to 0,2 µg can be exactly estimated.
