Summary

Production of experimental arteriosclerosis in rats acc. toPuls et al. (Mönckeberg type) [26] not only leads to an elevated capacity of the aorta to synthesize sulfated polysaccharides in vitro but also to a stimulated incorporation of several amino acids into the protein fraction.

In vitro examinations of the whole retina showed no significant signs of similar metabolic alterations.
