Summary

An increase in the incidence of the cytomegalovirus infections complicating leukemia was reported in the last years. Attempts were made to isolate cytomegalovirus from the urine of 11 patients with leukemias and other malignancies. Cytomegaloviruria was detected in a 6 and a half year old boy with acute leukemia. The decreased host resistance induced by an immunosuppressant therapy may be an explanation of the development of this disease. Cytomegalic inclusion disease is only a concomitant infection of a leukemia.
