Summary
The cytotoxicity of antihumanlymphocytic globulin against human monocytes isolated from peripheral blood was investigated. In the presence of complement the ALG preparations tested exhibited a cytotoxic effect against monocytes, which however was much less pronounced than against lymphocytes. By absorbing the sera with lymphocytes the cytotoxic effect against monocytes was also removed. If lymphocytes sensitized with ALG were added to monocytes rosette formation became demonstrable and in the presence of complement was detected up to high ALG dilutions.
