Summary
In 75 corpses, fibrinolytic system post mortem plasma was investigated, using the fibrin platlet method ofAstrup andMüllertz (1952).
-
1)
After demonstration of the presence of proactivator, fibrinolycin was found in 31% of the investigated specimens, activator in 65% and profibrinolycin in 76%.
-
2)
The profibrinolytic potential of corpse plasma can be activated by streptokinase and inhibited by amino-capronic acid.
-
3)
Profibrinolycin is a limiting factors in spontaneous and in post mortem fibrinolysis activated by streptokinase.
-
4)
A summary of the findings based on the presence or absence of fibrinolytic fracture allowed the material to fall into several groups:
Acute central nervous diseases as well as acute haemorrhagic conditions are the most frequent of these groups with obvious activity, whereas prolonged, chronic disease pass most of their course with failing or totally exhausted fibrinolytic activity.
