Journal of comparative physiology Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Using gas-liquid-chromatography, fucose, galactose, glucose, mannose, N-acetyl-galactosamine and N-acetyl-glucosamine have been found in the hemolymph ofHelix pomatia. The total carbohydrate content of hemolymph was 2.2±0.3 mg/ml. Ninety percent of these sugars are part of macromolecules which could be retained by ultrafiltration.
