Summary

In convalescent sera from 11 out of 15 patients with epidemic keratoconjunctivitis neutralizing and haemagglutination-inhibiting antibodies against adenovirus type 8 were found. In a control group with 30 patients only 3 sera were positive. Thus type 8 was the main causative agent, while four cases were not caused by this virus.
