Summary
A family in which death resulted from malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract repeatedly over three generations is reported. A thorough examination of this family shows the complete picture of Gardner's syndrome in only three members, the others members of the family having either no symptoms at all or polyposis alone or in associating with cutaneous or osseous symptoms. We consider whether familiary polyposis of the colon is a fragment or variation of Gardner's syndrome and whether bronchiectasis can be interpreted as a further symptom of Gardner's syndrome.
