284. Die Sonographie der Schilddrüse in der präoperativen Diagnostik

Summary

Sonography of different planes renders a three-dimensional image of the organ, including its demarcation and relationship to nearby organs, as well as patterns of parenchyma. Imaging does not depend on hormonal function; thus, even nonactive areas can be assessed. In fact, ultrasound and scintigraphy should be used in addition. Suspect palpatory/scintigraphic findings should be evaluated by ultrasound-controlled percutaneous needle biopsy.

Zusammenfassung

Die sonographische Darstellung verschiedener Längs- und Querschnitte erlaubt eine dreidimensionale Beurteilung der Organgröße, des Parenchymmusters, der Organbegrenzungen und der Beziehung zu Nachbarorganen. Die Abbildung ist unabhängig vom Funktionsstand des Parenchyms, so daß in Ergänzung zur Szintigraphie auch nicht speichernde Areale zugänglich sind. Die beiden genannten Verfahren sollten daher kombiniert eingesetzt werden. Bei unklaren palpatorischen/szintigraphischen Befunden ist die sonographisch kontrollierte Cytopunktion anzuwenden.
