Summary
tRNA was extracted from uninfected and poliovirus infected HEp-2 cells. The aminoacyl tRNA synthetase was obtained from rat liver. Several aminoacyl tRNAs, prepared “in vitro” were analyzed on a MAK column. Arginyl tRNA is quantitatively modified at 20 minutes of infection. After 6 hours, the incorporation of serine into seryl tRNA increases. Valyl- and leucyl tRNA remain unaltered at both periods of infection.
