Summary
A method of isolating cell walls from Fucus embryos is described. Clean cell walls were obtained by relatively gentle means and in sufficient quantities for chemical analysis. The wall preparations appeared identical to the walls of whole embryos when compared at the ultrastructural level and by histochemical criteria.
