An optical absorptiometric method for analyzing bromine-iodine mixtures

Abstract

For sodium, light, the absorption coefficient of carbon tetrachloride solutions of bromine-iodine mixtures varies linearly with mole fraction over most of the range. An analytical procedure baesd on this principle, and a simple instrument for carrying it out, are described.

Pour une lumière monochromatique (sodium), le coefficient d'absorption des mélanges brome-iode, en solution dans le tétrachlorure de carbone varie linéairement, sur la plus grande partie de l'échelle. Une méthode d'analyse, basée sur ce principe et un appareil simple sont proposés.

Zusammenfassung

Für Natriumlicht ist der Absorptionskoeffizient von Brom-Jod-Gemischen in Tetrachlorkohlenstofflösungen fast im ganzen Beobachtungsbereich eine lineare Funktion des Mohlenbruches. Eine analytische Methode und ein einfacher Apparat, die sich auf dieses Prinzip gründen, werden beschrieben.
