Abstract

Thermal neutron prompt γ-ray spectrometry is applied to the determination of nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen in environmental materials. Useful, simultaneous, nondestructive analyses with 1-g samples can be achieved at concentrations greater than 500 ppm, 10% and 5 ppm, respectively.
