Abstract

The structure of the (C18H8Se3O2)2(C6H5CN) molecular complex isolated from the TSeT + HgI2 reaction in benzonitrile has been determined. The -Se-Se-Se- fragment has been found to have SeSe bond lengths equal to 2.348(3) and 2.350(4) Å.
