Protein glycosylation analysis by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry
2005, Journal of Chromatography B: Analytical Technologies in the Biomedical and Life SciencesCitation Excerpt :Moreover, in the case of O-glycan alditols obtained by reductive β-elimination, such derivatisation is not possible at all. Underivatised glycans can be chromatographed well on NP (amine/amide) columns, which have been applied in conventional HPLC settings since more than a decade [45,46]. Obviously, these methods that rely on UV-absorbance for detection were rather insensitive because of the lack of a good chromophore in native glycans.
