Abstract

The 7Li and proton nuclear magnetic resonance in Li Cu Cl3.2H2O shows this compound to be antiferromagnetic with a Néel temperature of 4.46 ± 0.02°K. The local fields at the Li and proton sites combined with the quadrupole splitting of the Li resonance and the dipole-dipole splitting of the proton resonance indicate that the magnetic symmetry group of this crystal must be one of three possible types.
