Fast electric microfield distribution calculations in strongly coupled Yukawa plasmas
2008, High Energy Density PhysicsCitation Excerpt :The problem is then reduced to evaluate the distribution of their occurrence probability corresponding to a stochastic ionic position distribution while assuming that the free electrons adjust instantaneously to the given ionic distribution or ionic configuration. Tremendous work has been accomplished over the years to describe the electric microfield distributions for a large range of the plasma parameters [7–23]. The first theory really able to provide reliable numerical results for weakly to strongly coupled plasmas with electron screening is the adjustable-parameter exponential (APEX) treatment proposed by Iglesias et al. [24–28].
