Abstract

Superconducting Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O films were fabricated on MgO (100) single crystals using a dip coating process with alkoxide-alkanolamine solutions. The effects of processing conditions such as firing temperature and time and cooling rate on the phase distribution and resistivity behavior were studied. It was found that films containing predominantly the high Tc phase could be produced with this technique. All films showed highly preferred orientation of the c-axis perpendicular to the surface.
