Reorientation of FA centers in lithium doped potassium chloride crystal

Abstract

We study here the reorientation of FA centers in an FA (II) KCl:Li crystal at liquid nitrogen temperature. The reorientation is limited due to the off axis position of the Li+ ion inside the crystal. We suggest a model describing the dynamics of this incomplete reorientation and we apply the results to the measurement of the angular displacement of the Li+ ion.
