Abstract

A separated oscillatory field technique has been used in conjunction with a fast hydrogen beam to narrow the Lamb shift resonance in hydrogen, n = 3 and to make a precision measurement of this interval. The final result isS( H, n = 3) = (314.80 ± 0.052) MHz.
