Abstract

A simple two-body-equation is presented which treats both particles relativistically. A theorem on the decay rates of weakly decaying particles bound in atoms is derived from a postulate of complex masses in the QED field equations; it is evaluated for the new equation, and a possible extension to heavy quarkonium is mentioned.
