Abstract

A plastic NE110 scintillation counter of 50 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm destined to detect neutrons of 2–200 MeV has been constructed. It is composed of four scintillators of 2.5 cm thickness. The resolution of the time-of-flight and of the space localisation were studied with two kinds of set-up using photomultipliers XP 2020 and XP 1041 of RTC. The counter efficiency was measured for neutrons of 5, 10 and 14.6 MeV and compared with that calculated by the Kurz's program.
