Abstract

Two long counters have been examined. The thickness of the outer paraffin layer was 7.5 cm and 19.5 cm respectively. For measurements of fluxes from point sources or in well defined beams the thinner shielding was sufficient. In cases of less unidirectional fluxes the thicker shielding will be advantageous.
