Abstract

After a long period of research into the separating process, the isotope separator, MIERA, has begun its career of separating isotopes in practical quantities. In order to separate tellurium-124 (natural abundance 4.6%) at a purity in excess of 99.5% in a single separation from the natural element, without significantly degrading the production rate, various refinements and modifications were made. These modifications are discussed together with the results of isotope separations of tellurium before and after incorporation of these refinements.
