Doppler shift studies with selected recoil directions

Abstract

By utilizing a specific set of charged particle-gamma ray coincidence configurations and orienting a relatively thin target such that the ions recoil in the plane of the target, inherent difficulties often encountered in Doppler shift attenuation measurements are eliminated.
