Abstract

In this study of proton scattering from Be9, solid state detectors were used to measure angular distributions of the cross sections for elastic scattering and inelastic scattering to the 2.43 MeV excited state. These distributions were measured at eleven bombarding energies between 5 and 15.1 MeV and cover the range from 15° to 170° in the c.m. system. The total cross section for scattering to the excited state shows a small maximum at 8 and 9 MeV bombarding energy.
