Abstract

Angular distributions of polarization and cross section in p−12C elastic scattering have been measured in 10° intervals for laboratory scattering angles ψ1=20° to 140° at eight energies between 4.7 and 8.7 MeV. Polarizations and cross sections as a function of energy at ψ1=50° are also presented. At three angles of scattering (ψ1=50°, 70° and 90°). the polarization measurements were extended to 11.3 MeV. A phase analysis of the data was carried out at the energies where angular distributions were measured. It is shown that the gross features of the energy dependence of the phase shifts agrees with the optical model.
