Abstract

A semiempirical evaluation of the fluorescence yield ωi and Coster-Kronig transition probabilities f12, f13 and f1 is presented for the elements with atomic number 47 ⩽ Z ⩽ 53. These values are derived from a comparison of available experimental information on X-ray emission and L-subshell ionization cross sections for proton bombardment with the predictions of the ECPSSR and SCABCR theories. Present results show a Z dependence smoother than theoretical estimates and phenomenological compilation.
