Abstract

Measurements of the timing properties of an induction drift chamber (IDC) are presented. The anode wire signals and the induced signals on the cathodes are investigated and compared with Monte Carlo simulation. The results indicate the possibility of using the IDC in a fast first level trigger setup with a coincidence length of about 10 ns.
