Abstract

Inclusive production of charged pions on carbon by neutrons in the energy range of 300–580 MeV has been measured at five angles between 73° and 165°. The invariant cross sections can be expressed for the high energy part by E dσd3p=A exp(−Bp2).The slope parameter exhibits a systematic behaviour with neutron energy and emission angle.
