Deuteron break-up and proton scattering on 58Ni☆

Abstract

The break-up of deuterons on 58Ni has been measured. Contrary to gold the energy-angle correlation shows a pronounced structure due to excitation of levels in the intermediate configuration 59Cu. The proton spectra are confronted with the excitation curves for proton scattering on the same target.
