¹⁷⁴Lu nuclear structure revisited

Abstract

The data on the ¹⁷⁶Yb(p, 3nγ)¹⁷⁴Lu reaction published by Bruder et al. have been further analyzed, by taking into account newer results from the ¹⁷⁰Er(⁷Li, 3nγ)¹⁷⁴Lu reaction. The $\text{K}{}^{\mathrm{\pi }}\text{= 2}{}^{\mathrm{+}}\text{{p}\text{9}{}^{\mathrm{-}}\text{2}\text{}[514−n]}\text{5}{}^{\mathrm{-}}\text{2}\text{[512]}$ configuration was assigned to a new band having levels with energies close to those of the band proposed by Bruder et al. for which a new assignment is discussed. Three further new bands were disclosed. In addition we present a critical discussion on the measurement of the ^174mLu magnetic moment by Krane et al. Reevaluating their data we get a new value which nearly eliminates an anomaly in the g-factors previously evinced by Kern et al.
