Abstract

We supply new spectroscopic data on 62Co. Until now only the existence of a ground state doublet has been known and assumptions regarding the spin assignments have been made. By means of the (d, α) reaction performed with 15 MeV deuterons on the 64Ni target nucleus we have determined excitation energies up to about 2.8 MeV as well as spins of several levels. Estimates about the configurations of the strongly excited levels are made. Furthermore a possible correction to the only roughly known Q-value is suggested.
